About the Academy

The New Hampshire Emergency Services Explorer Training Academy is a week long residential education program consisting of both classroom and practical evolutions pertaining to both Firefighting and Emergency Medical Services.

Cadets 14-17 years old are exposed to the equipment used by and elements of the professional training programs used to certify both Firefighters and Emergency Medical Technicians.

Uniforms, room, and board are included within the cost of the program.

Where does the academy take place?: The academy takes place on the grounds of the New Hampshire Fire Academy located at 98 Smokey Bear Blvd, Concord NH 03301.
Is the academy a residential program?: Yes, cadets reside on-site for the duration of the program at the New Hampshire Fire Academy within the dormitories on-campus.
How are the cadets supervised?: Cadets are supervised by NHESETA staff members and volunteer instructors throughout their learning evolutions. At night while residing in the dormitories cadets are supervised by trusted NHESETA staff members with youth protection training.
Are medical staff on-site?: Yes our NHESETA medical staff maintain at least one on site paramedic or nurse throughout the program with responsibilities to provide first aid and dispense cadet medications. During training evolutions NH Fire Academy EMS staff are on-site to evaluate and render aid should any medical emergencies arise.
Are scholarships offered?: Yes, we are happy to discuss any financial hardships. We receive several donations and they are generally used first to sponsor cadets who may require financial assistance.
